Night Mare

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Before the morning's sacred lightBefore the sun creeps in my window thereMy eyes are drawn to inner sightPaving ground for my own Night MareIt waits for me in shadowed sleepCalling on my closest fearsIt's goal no more than hear me weepFeeding off my bitter, hopeless tearsBut worst of all is truly thisWhen I wake my mind in turmoilI am not blessed by mem'ries kissThat fleeting comrade ne'er loyalYet neither is my fear dispelledFor I feel its terror trueAnd like a villian finally felledI know its cause is youPerhaps I know not who you areOr why my dreams you hauntBut I know that you cannot be farFor your dreams were meant to dauntAnd though the morning be my saving knightThat empty spectre wakes with me in partWhispering my vain attempts to end this fightNestled deep within my traiterous heartany suggestions please Written August 4th, 2001 © on Aug 04 2001 09:05 AM PST   0 • 1
