By Morgan LeFay

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

When I was but a lass The bards would strike a chord And tell the tale of Camelot And Arthur her marvelous King and Lord                                       They'd sing of swords and stones                                       And knights and ladies too                                       But now I've grown to understand                                       So I'll tell the story true Arthur loved his country much But in truth he was no god He made mistakes aplenty Even acted like a sod                                       Oh yeah then there's Guenevere                                       England's Queen and Lady                                       But children weren't her strong point                                       And her dealings with Lance were                                            kinda shady Of course that leads to Lancelot That most glorious shining knight He cheated with his best friend's wife And started up another fight                                       Merlin can't escape this either                                       Not for his dastard role                                       For baby snatching was his trade                                       And twas little Lord Arthur he stole But what of that witch, that Morgan You ask with bated breath Well I think they got her story wrong Twasn't she that caused her brother's death                                       So now you see what I mean                                       About mistaken bards                                       Hey, they had to sing you something                                       While the cheated you at cards Oh, I'm sorry did I ruin it That magical, lovely tale Well what did you expect From those idiots who saught the Grail?any suggestions please Written August 4th, 2001 © on Aug 04 2001 08:58 AM PST   0 • 14
