This Innocent Dance

By Morgan LeFay

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Down in the valley they dance And up in the mountains they sing Yet quiet and alone no more Yet soft and loud at once Ah! To rise like silly birds And float like leaves upon the wind From valley to mountain And ever back again, again Why leave what we are Why stay and never see To choose, to choose our only way Or never wake from slumber What sweet bliss to dwell in nonsense And trip from thought to dream Never back again, again To rest forever in the sea And go farther and stay the same What an enigma to simply be No more than to love the world Or cry for loss untold Or sleep for slumber at days endDo you like the flighty style? Ive been doing a few of these and i wondered whether they were enjoyable to any but me and of course why or why not Written March 20th, 2002 © on Mar 20 2002 07:38 AM PST   0 • 9 • 10
