I Do
By repomen79
This is the first day of our forever. You softly ask of me and I reply. Yes, I'll cherish you and I will never Leave your side until the day I die. In the tender contemplation of each other. We sew the silken tapestry of love. The tie that binds our hearts to one another. The vow that binds our souls to God above. I walk to where you wait, and do not falter. The wedding march resounding in my soul. As I lay my heart upon the alter. Blinded by the tears I can't control. Comes a rolling thunder underneath an I Do. Changing all that I have ever known. From this day, I'll ever after have you. And you and I will never walk alone. From within a heart as large as all creation. Comes all the love my angel has to give. I kiss her tenderly, in celabration. Of the wonder of the life that we will live. I do not fear, my angel you are near me. Upon this day like none that came before. My soul whispers I love you, and you hear me. And I know you will forever more. Soon hand in hand we'll walk into the sunshine. When the ceremony is all done. At last forever yours as you will be mine. As the two of us are made forever one. About us all is smiles and celebration. Love has touched all with its mighty hand. Hearts are filled with joyous contemplation. Of the loving life that we have planned. Would the words of women writ in sorrow. For the many things she cannot say. Give to me the sweetness of tommorrow. In the joyous beauty of her wedding day. By these vows we make an affirmation. We take each other now, to have and hold. In the presence of this congregation. Until the sun and stars have all gone cold. The hourglass is set to things eternal, The mystery of love doth work its charms. A moment ever after made imortal, Born within the magic of your arms. I draw aside the veil of all creation. To kiss the tear stained rapture of your face. Oh beauty for the sensual situation, That ever after fills this life with grace. Please comment.a repost of my first poem at this site.
