Mother (Earth)

Dear Mother, I'm sorry I haven't been there I apologize for my actions It seems as if I don't care My actions I cannot take back But the responsibility I will hold My thoughts have manifested And this is what I've done Everytime a crisis comes my way I turn and run Though sometimes I may up the arms I never give a seconds thought To the toll and the harm They are right when they say Actions speak louder than words Clearly my actions have been heard I cannot fix the things From the past And now As I see you begin to die I am questioning my actions And asking "Why?" Living the consequences I am beginning to pay I'm afraid to go to sleep For I fear tomorrow will not be another day Written December 27th, 2001 © on Dec 26 2001 03:08 PM PST   18 • 0 • 12
