A poem for others
Why is everyone looking at me? Alone in this cell, assaulted by his glassy stare. Is this marked face tainted or plain in your eyes Does my Inner darkness blemish my skin, or radiate empathy towards you? Can you feel anything but your own insecurities Am I your silent freak? Or is it the opposite of my repeating redundant thoughts? Are you just a curious fleshy skeleton, Longing to return to the lost winds on ebony shores Where sanctity was ripped from the womb, and thrust on earth. Born again to bondage? Rip off your blinders, The world is frustrated by your apathy. Can't you see past your briefcase and sense my humanity? You long nosed look is beneath the very skin it left, For nothing can change, through endless stale glances Ignored by all...I wrote this in about 5 minutes, as a challenge from jayme... i think it turned out quite well Written November 20th, 2001 © on Nov 20 2001 10:07 AM PST 0 • 10
