Looking back
A year has past on into histories gaze Smeared by the truth, tainted by reality Yet blessed with beauty and compassion Not ending like it did in confusion Words compare nothing to feelings, but can hurt as easily I’m tired And missing an angel beside me For whom I am an annoyance it seems I still fear that I am nothing Merely a mouse in a cats world To be tormented until my masters are bored Then devoured, and left For my mouth betrays my feelings My hands disobey my meanings Leaving painful mistakes in my path Casting pure shadow Over a once bright pyre, reduced to smouldering embers Still flaring at times, fighting against night But lost to her Crumbled by illusion And destroyed by stupidity and thoughtless words Written November 6th, 2001 © on Nov 06 2001 09:07 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
