Drink, Drive and Die
By Spiderman
Each day that goes buy is one less to be had To fill up with joy for it’s now in the past There is no turning back, no travelling through time To change what you did, hope it was fine. For you will not get a chance to do it again There’s no chance for you go back to change what you said For the clocks of time go forward, there’s no stopping at all For if they could stop how could you tell time at all And you made a mistake, a rather large one at that One you did not understand until after the fact While your looking straight up, ‘cause you’re down on your back Wondering why you got in the car when you were staggering like that. Then you slowly open your eyes a word you try to say That you so are sorry for what you had done on that day But there is no sound that comes out, not even a whisper Then you here the sounds of your younger crying sister. She’s asking, “why isn't brother going to come home? Why is his body laying in the middle of the road? Why is there blood oozing from his head? Oh mommy please don’t tell me that he is dead.” Then you finally understand the mistake that you made The one, that’s now cost you, it’s your life that you’ve paid What were you thinking drinking and driving, insane! You put your own life in danger but for the last day. For it’s too late to go back, it’s too late to change To late to say you’re sorry you won’t do it again. What a horrible thing that could happen at this tender young age Phone the high school and tell them that yesterday was the last day. Now your falling asleep, everything’s getting dark Why didn’t you clue in at the very start? That by drinking and driving it’s your life that you’ve paid And your life will end on this dark ugly day.
