Rules of War(2)

By Spiderman

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The night is young the sky so grey Scorched with the souls that have died today. And down in the trench A man’s body there lays and will be refereed to as MIA but while out in the ocean A ship sinks to the floor. Down to the bedrock, to be seen never more. While surrounded by oil survivor’s cry and they plea to be taken aboard, out of the fiery sea. And as POWs lie about their rank and their name. They're put through much torture, and even more pain. But still others die after telling the truth for the scares that some carry, are substantial proof. And finally our men return to their homes. Only to find them destroyed crosses laying in rows. But some shells are still grounded hundreds of soldiers enraged how could this have happened, the wars so far away? They could just imagine the words they would say. To the mad man that broke the Rules of War on this day. But civilians still died and soldiers will fall and survivors will wonder how they survived through it all. But if the Geneva Convention had not happened at all. All hell would brake lose, and millions would fall But that’s why we have the Rules of War today. To keep battle from going, completely insane. For those who don't know MIA is Missing in Action and POW is Prisoner of War. Written November 19th, 2001 © on Nov 19 2001 03:11 AM PST   0 • 9
