His Name was Adam

In Memory of James Adam Stotler We only knew you for a little while but you were so much a part of this family. We were waiting to know you better when you turned 18. At every family gathering you were there in our spirits and in our hearts. We did not get to see you learn to walk or hear your first words. We did see you through pictures and in our minds we watched you grow. You had your fathers’ eyes as I remember. The last time I saw you, you were being christened at the church. They tried to keep you here but teenagers are still under the control of their parents so the battle was lost. We kept the dream that when you turned 18 you would come and find us. We waited and the time was almost here. Had you fallen in love or had you first kiss? Did our love for you reach across the miles through the years? Could you feel our prayers, did you know how much we loved you? We heard it happened on Halloween, but no one knew until a few days later. You were buried today, 16 years old, life was taken from you. Murdered for material possessions, Your adoptive mother and your friend were there with you. Did you join hands on your journey into heaven? I want to believe that before your spirit left this earth, you came and looked into our hearts and saw there the silent love our family had for you. Be at peace Adam and forever locked into the places of our hearts. Written November 6th, 2001 © on Nov 06 2001 09:37 AM PST 0 • 8
