Divine Devotions
By zuzus petals
Tiny wooden eyes of glimmering lightLeaving shadows like numbing prayers to godCrept upon silenced birds of black and white Released upon a single beckoned nodGallant soldiers return from bloody warWith hushed lips and trembling teary eyesFrom their gaping wounds like red wine doth pour Ruddy drops of sweet dew that never driesCrying children who fear the darkened viewSpread light upon all ghostlike hazy grays And torched the dim sky with a scorching blueTo bring forth breezy nights and dismal daysThe once fair maidens burn with desireTo sell their souls to a man on the streetAnd dare dance all night close to the fire To rich toned sounds of a jingling beatMy own mind probes my divine devotionsHow in chaos I find my heart beats strong Through each of my perpetual motionsA beat outlasting the sweetest of songsit rhymes...I don't usually rhyme...it was fun to write though.
