Eyes Part Coal and Part Diamonds

By zuzus petals

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It’s time to take Your rose-flavored medication; Lift your rag doll head And show me once again That your eyes Are part coal and part diamonds. The words you don’t speak Mean the world to me, I only need to hear them once To know I am the weaker one. But, if you say I live my life in the past tense Then how come I know, That you’ll be drunk forever? My favorite line in the poem is '...your eyes Are part coal and part diamonds.' and I didn't know what to name the poem...so I kind of just took my favorite part and used it as the title hehe. I think I'm going to add to this poem...I think I can elaborate more and come to a less abrupt ending. and I must admit that I think I picked up 'rose-flavored medication' from somewhere, but I can't think of where. -zuzu Written October 30th, 2001 © on Oct 30 2001 08:39 AM PST   10 • 0
