Hallucination
By zuzus petals
I know you are just mere hallucination That if I could summon enough strength To look back, it would take you only seconds to reappear As if you’ve known forever that I would give this last glance. Just like an epiphany, you come to me, You perplex me, you overwhelm me, Yet I know you are not there; That if I reached a hand to your metallic skin, I would be caressing only the memory That still tingles on the tips of my fingers, Like winter fights to cling to flesh. The sounds of snow echo, And I fight to remember these sounds of you Of your silence, And of my shaky voice, Afraid to catch you off-guard. Again as epiphany, you re-emerge, And bring to me in a warming silence A thought, a wonderful ghostly resonance. If I wished for your haunting to cease I could simply break this silence, And walk away, with out this last glance. But, I would rather caress the memory Than bear your loss with out them.I don't know what's wrong with me lately--I'm not preticularly proud of this--zuzu Written February 9th, 2002 © on Feb 08 2002 03:25 PM PST 10 • 0
