I Wax Poetic

By zuzus petals

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I wax poeticIn times I dig beneath the snowAnd kiss The frozen earth; To caress the frostThat turns to dewThen back to frost.I wax poeticIn times I run my hands Just aboveThe stillest watersAnd feel It quiver in my wake;To see it trembleAnd settle Smooth and dark.I wax poeticIn times I shed tearsFor a museAnd strain To hear The softest voicesAmong chaos; To graspThe slightest Hint of hopeIn visions That taunt my soul.I wax poeticIn times I trap myselfIn a struggle To destroy And create; To foldBack brittle paperAnd start Once more at the beginningA new pageEmpty and inviting.“…I wax poetic.”um there isn't much to say about this one. I wrote about having these poetic thoughts that I cannot convey in words (if that makes sense). -zuzu Written September 22nd, 2001 © on Sep 21 2001 04:04 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
