My Song

By zuzus petals

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I wrote my song with phrases I heard from you. Borrowed from bits and pieces of your many melodies. I found them hidden away, deep inside boxes cloaked in cloth, Scribbled on scraps of paper. I can almost etch upon my own mind those same notes And beat upon my own wrists those same rhythms. I absentmindedly replay those same tunes over and over With streams steadily flowing from the tips of my fingers. My song breathes the breath of your life And waits for your touch to be inspired; To be felt as deeply as I once felt it.I admit this poem may seem a little weak and I'm not sure if it is because it needs more to it or a better ending.
