Clown

By D Bailey

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I'm the funny guy who makes people laugh, Turn around and watch those same people disperse, I think I've got what is known as sad clown syndrome, Is that the reason I sit alone at home? I see things different, I see things strange, I see things that fill me up with both joy and pain. People have tried to change me, "Why aren't you more friendly?" My reply? "I'm just being me" I see things different, I see things strange, I see things that fill me up with both joy and pain. But the audience laugh and the audience cheers, The audience doesn't care as long as theres beer, You're so funny, you make us laugh, Then that audience leaves, Im on my own, Who knew humour was such a curse? The other side of being known as the funny one.
