I have been blessed by a new sun As we watched it blaze over sand dunes warming our cold bones and touching our hearts. I watched you smile in the morning light. I knew you were more beautiful than anything my eyes held before. or indeed will hold ever again. I awoke to your heavenly smile and the tenderness of your soul. Do you really know how lovely you are? Do you really know what you do to my heart? And sometimes I want to wander into the long stretches of silence that hold your love. On some mornings I don’t want to move away from your embrace. Just to lazily lie in the meditation of your soft breathing watching a world go by. To recall the flaming red hair you wear so well which puts to shame the sun’s ball of fire. Just like it gives life to the world, your being there gives life to my love.
