Waiting
By Desert Simba
I know there will be a few days that separate us. Days where the sunsets will dissolve into evenings of your absence. And yet this missing will be different. For I know you will return. For I know you will caress my back again. And from somewhere we will find the courage not to drag our past behind us, like some tired sun that merely scorches the skin. In a gentle embrace I shall hold your body. even though you will be away. In a lasting kiss I will feel your warmth even when the nights are lonesome. In a trembling voice I will speak to you in the silence of the room whose walls know you so well. And with a cold tingling on your back you will meet friends that eyes do not see. I am getting more accustomed to loving you. And even though small stretches of your absence pull my heart side ways. I somehow know, you will always return. Can I somehow tell your heart that I shall always love you. Written January 23rd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 04:12 PM PST 0 • 8
