Nutmegs and Mangoes

By Desert Simba

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

did you know how much I missed you? Did you know how incessant the fragrance Of nutmegs and mangoes was? Did you know that sleep had escaped me in your absence? Did you know there were messages I wrote for you In the air around your pillow? Did your heart read them? I learned how much you love me, Even more then you could comprehend upon yourself. I learned why passion fruit has meaning in your life. I heard your lips tell me you love me. Did you know those words sounded like It was the first time I had heard them in my life. I desire your absence to disappear. I desire your lips to be sealed to mine. I want to wake up curled inside your heart. I simply want to be where you are always. Nestled lips to lips, Torso to torso, Heart to heart Soul to soul. Enjoined as One. Written February 13th, 2002 © on Feb 12 2002 05:05 PM PST   0 • 8
