Parting of the Ways

By kvwriter

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Parting of the Ways Friends, relatives, and others come to gather for the day. Sorrow deep within the heart as tears on faces play. Death has come and taken one so precious to us all. The Lord has lifted up the soul, as voices of angels call. Soon, dawn breaks to wake us, with beauty and with pain. A day of missing and longing pass, yet tears we can't refrain. Only time will heal the wounds that death brings to our days, Because death is not a loss, but a brief parting of the ways. kvwriter a.k.a Kelly JohnsonI wrote this when an elderly family member died and it's now read in several funeral homes across the country to bring some solace to an emotion (grief) we must all eventually endure. kvwriter/Kelly Written May 23rd, 1984 © on Feb 23 2002 05:15 AM PST, Kelly Varner Johnson   0 • 1
