The Wedding Poem
By kvwriter
The Wedding Poem Today you will walk another path, a walk of unity. It may lead to climbing mountains high, but at the top, to tranquility. Along this journey, you'll share your hopes, your dreams, your love, And as you reach for the goals you seek, help will come from above. Lean on each other from the start; you are each no longer alone. Set your minds to live life well, and create your happy home. Be loyal to one another in every possible way, For loyalty is an absolute must for every single day. Truth is essential for your lives, leave no room for doubt. Be truthful with each other, always; there is no other route. Enjoy the sunsets and sunrises, enjoy the skies of blue, You'll discover the simple pleasures of life will bring God's peace to you. When children enter your lives one day, to them, as well, be true. Don't withhold your whimsical ways; a child needs that from you. Find your peace with everyone, life's easier that way. Forget the past and any wrongs, live always for today. Forgive for misunderstandings that may have caused hurt unto you. In the future, there will come a time when you'll need forgiveness too. Let all your words speak kindness and your bond will surely grow. The passage of time and lessons learned will surely teach you so. Be of like minds on common ground, yet accept your different ways, And you will know many happy moments, and contentment all your days. As a couple, and as parents, you are bound to make mistakes. That only means you're human; an apology is all it takes. Wrap yourselves in courage and strength, and follow the words above. Then the vows you took won't break, they'll be entwined with LOVE . . . by kvwiterThis wedding poem was orginally written for my daughter's wedding, but it stands as a good beginning for all couples just starting out on that road of life, unified. kvwriter Written December 1st, 2001 © on Feb 08 2002 04:12 AM PST, Kelly Varner Johnson 0 • 8
