The pilate's wife, suffers a vision, Of the consequence of his decision, She begs,"do nothing, if you can, Against this just and rightious man". In a dream, his fate has troubled me. And the sun won't shine on calvery. This would be "king" bought unto trial, Shall trouble Rome for just a while. When meted justice for his crime, His legacy shall fade in time. That he claim a kingdom uselessly, Let him bear his cross to calvery. So too the elders of the Jews. In accordance with the pilate's veiws. Decree in council that his death be done, For the word of this Jesus, Is a troublesome one Their evil shall have sealed their destiny, When the sun turns away from calvery. The gleeful people heard the cry. And asked whom they would crucify. Send out Barrabas, as one they pled. Kill this"son of God" instead. For he has no power that we can see. Let him save himself, at calvery. In evil joy, be mocked, and stripped, Taunted, spat upon, and whipped. Let Him whose hands hold all tomorrow, Walk his weary way of sorrow. Poised at the point of eternity. On the dusty road to calvery. The crowd rejoicing at the kill, Then sudden silent midday still, shadows grow upon the crowd. His voice cries to His Father loud. Father why has thou forsaken me? Its early night on calvery. Within the darkness hearts turn cold. Was this the one who was fortold? Mocking turns to creeping fear. Damnation seems so very near. And darkness dampens revilry, For night has come to calvery. Centurions stand in fearful awe, This death like none they ever saw. All around the silence falls. All can hear Him, when He calls. My spirit I commend to thee. His work is done at calvery. Many years have come and gone. Yet still His mercy carries on. Salvation purchased by His grace. Was paid in full upon that place. The gates of heaven, opened up for me, When the sun looked away from calveryThank God this really happened. Written February 4th, 2002 © on Feb 04 2002 10:52 AM PST, Patric Patterson    0 • 13 • 12
