I am Egypt
By repomen79
I am Egypt, I am despair. My children mapped the sky. And called forth from the very air. The caverns where I lie. Gaze upon my works and know. That time runs like a stream. which from this land does ever flow. And dream a pharoh's dream Her hand reached to the universe. She was, and then was not. The scarob bears the robbers curse. Lest the mighty be forgot. Til the fullness of mens deeds be done. shall her glory ever seem. To eclipse the very midday sun. So dreams a pharoh's dream Horrizons shift in subtle tune. To the music of the spheres. As strange as the dark side of the moon. As sweet as a mothers tears. Though the latter lack for consequence. In the age of the lazer beam. Still the capstone lays in confidence. From the time of a pharoh's dream From the burning waste to the ice encased. Mountains of the northern sea. to the pyramid ozimandis placed. At the dawn of history. Of earth and stone and great unknown what signal shall redeem? The lofty ones who sleep alone. And dream a pharoh's dream. Look on me here for always near. Stands death and great hereafter. And all abides to disappear. perhaps to end in laughter. The current flows, and the shadow grows. And the light shines on the stream. To never know that to sparkle so. is to dream a pharoh's dream.I wrote this for my mummy Written January 19th, 2002 © on Aug 29 2002 05:57 PM PST, Patric Patterson 10 • 0 • 13
