Small words
By repomen79
I tried to write a life in rhyme. I couldn't speak in parable. Tried illiteration for a time. But it was undesirable. I felt some how a word might come. To define all of existance. a healing word to some how sum. The emptiness of distance. The spaces wide and dark and cold. that seperate the crowd. The hearts conclusions, never told. Nor spoken of out loud. I felt that if I bravely spoke. In lines of metered verse. Theyed see that love was not a joke. And Pain was not a curse. That every hurt is a lesson taught. And truth is compensation. The soul is where our battles fought. The sky our destination. Multisyllabic words were grand. And weighty by design. Small words on the other hand. Were harder to define. Law was writ in words so long. That justice was confusing. Little words like right or wrong. Were what we should be using. Life was writ in words that touch. Like love and hope and heal. Words that meant so very much. Little words, big deal. I tried to say in metered rhyme. How you're love lifted me. Define my place, in space and time. In terms of poetry. It all came down to one small word. That word will ever be. LOVE for wherever loves occured. A heart has ben set free If these should be the last i speak I say befor we part. The perfect love that we all seek. Is in each others heart.Reach out in the darkness. Written December 20th, 2001 © on Dec 20 2001 01:42 AM PST, Patric Patterson 0 • 12
