The unknown cosmonaut

The mother land lie's far below. I am taken from its ken. It calls to me, come home again Here within my endless orbit. The when is not for me to know. Within this ageless void I co. Out where the darkened universe turns. Transittion becomes pretention. Beyond all comprehension.. Disdainful dark and starry night. Whose quenchless fire burns. Without regard for mens concerns. The Earth so fragile in its place. Much grander than was seen. By the minister of machine. We were babie's playing poppa. Adolescents in our race. And Infants here in space. My time was one of great mistrust. Ideology did so divide. There was no other side. there was no where to stand. Though reason said you must. If your cause be truly just. We knew the great thermo nuclear fear. When death came from the sky. Now in this warhead only I. Some how death was kept at bay. Til reason did appear. It brings no comfort here. Where I, old dead, new communist man. Who dared to go beyond the sky. Am forgotten now, and doomed to fly. Forever in my tomb of steel. Thusly exceeding the five year plan, As only a steadfast soviet can Now what would Marx or lenin say? to a man in my position? No theory covers this condition. Out here theres only awe. The stars abide and night will stay. When dreams of men have passed away. There will not be a peoples space. Nor political debate. Out here theres none to hate There is only here and now. Man and his maker face to face. And showing fear is no disgrace Peace my sweet green Earth below. You've all you'll ever need. Its a fact that fear and greed. Were never communist nor capitolist. Until their leaders made them so. Where would you'r leaders have you go?Russia was said to have lost a cosmonaut in thier first orbital attempt. In the former soviet union they believe that america lost military pilots in our first space efforts. there is so much junk over our heads they both coud be right Written January 6th, 2002 © on Jan 06 2002 11:59 AM PST, Patric Patterson    0 • 1
