Innocence

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

When was that time That seems so long ago When I had no worries And when monsters were my only foe Is my innocent lost And never to be found Or merely just tucked away for the time being The world through a different pair of eyes I was seeing A vivid imagination And adventures were abound When was that time When I didn't know lust or need My mother's soothing voice I would quickly heed The time I was afraid of the other sex When dealing with them I could not keep a straight face Tell me, what happened to that place When was that time?
