Nocturnal Salvation
By RiVeN
John stepped out into the cold midnight air Insomnia plagued him like a string of the flu Wandering up and down the streets at night Did he hallucinate that they had turned blue. Walking down skid row Music came from a building That could topple over at the slightest blow John went up the unwelcoming gray stairs And looked inside Blackness A staircase infront of him That seemed to go on for miles He ascended the staircase And descended into insanity He stopped at the top and walked down the hallway The music growing ever so louder An early style Reminiscent of Medieval times He looked through the door and saw th band Playin well and playin fine He took a seat in the back and looked at the band And what few people were there He began to drift off to sleep His subconscious taking hold of the reins He could not get comfortable in that chair He stepped outside and fell asleep to the sound of rain He awoke to even harder rain but was it the same day? He went into the room and did not see anybody He glimpsed upon skeletons carved in stone He looked down at his hands and saw the effects of time John left the room And made the journey back to his bed As he left the room one of the skeletons turned and looked at him and began to follow As did the rest ~~10/7/2001~~Written once again in the style of Mr. Thomas Ligotti. Infact, this almost exactly like one of his stories. Written April 13th, 2002 © on Apr 13 2002 06:48 AM PST 0 • 10
