Phantoms of the Shadows Pt.1

John had called me over one night.  He had something he needed to show me.  I stepped out of my car and the midnight air had a sharp bite to it.  John lived in an old Victorian style house on the top of the hill.  No light emitted from any of the windows.  I walked up the stairs to the door and they moaned from years of being walked on.  I knocked on the door and got no response.  A slight feeling of terror swept over me as I opened the door and stepped into the abyssmal blackness.  I groped, searching for a working lightswitch, but none of them offered me any hope.  While walking, I stumbled over a flashlight and turned it on.  As it cut through the darkness, I saw that John had done some remodeling.  He had draped bedsheets over all of the furniture and books were stacked around the room.  The amount of dust on them had told me that they had been there for quite a while.  I tried to remember when exactly was the last time I had seen John.  I heard some stirring around from upstairs and I called out into the blackness, but it gave no response.  I walked up the stairs and slowly turned the corner.  The second door on the right was open with light coming and going.  I called his name out again and still got no response.  My breathing quickened when I opened the door.  Hanging from the swinging light was a noose and on the ground was a knocked over stool.  I was confused by this sigh and exited the room and continued down the hall to the end.  I entered the room at the end of the hall and the only thing in there was a big black light.  Over in the corner there were also some pens and aerosol spray cans.  I sprayed one of them, but no color came out.  Only the hissing sound.  I picked up the big black light and flicked it on. In an instant I was bombarded by messages from a madman.  I went down the hall and black light revealed phantoms in the shadows.  I went downstairs and picked up a book and flipped through the pages.  Blank without the comforting black light, but when it was turned on, it revealed a journal.  I stopped on November 26 and read, “...the light opened a new world to me, invisible to the naked eye...”  I flipped through more books and then something disturbing popped into my head.Just a note to the reader's the following parts do get kind of disturbing.
