Silent Genius
By RiVeN
Matthew was the one That sat in the back of class He knew how to write And he could write fast Livin his life on skid row With mortal devils He always went with toe-to-toe Poetry was his outlet The best way to get his feelings down He looked at life differently And was able to walk on the other side of town Years of abuse made him emotionally week Father would drink a bottle of Jack And hit him like concrete Daddy split and left mom the kids Odds were against them Constantly raised with the bids Now he writes in his notebook That he carries with a pen Writing images of love The future And an original sin Nobody paid attention to the Silent Genius Matthew had only a few close friends And kept a secret from them for all time People assumed he was fine Until his mother found him Slit wrists and at the end of his line His mother found the notebook And published the stories his mind would tell Of teenage heavens And teenage hells Writing images of love The future And an original sin Nobody paid attention to the Silent GeniusThis was supposed to be a song at first. But oh well. Written January 9th, 2002 © on Jan 09 2002 02:12 PM PST 0 • 10
