The Beach
By RiVeN
Sun hanging high overhead Thoughts and dreams Pop in and out of my head Spectacles shade my view of the world Spectacles shape my view of the world An ocean big and blue My heart is aching for you Paying no attention To the words being said My hunger for love and enlightenment has been fed A short burst of joy Can last a lifetime In a world of sad and gloom In a world full of adults I am a boy I wish to view You with my own eyes If I have not been paying attention I apologize I left my mind at the beach While dreaming of you Of the stars and the skies When I look through The looking glass The only thing I see is you This place may only exsist in my head I'm sorry if I have not been paying attention The only things I've been listening to Is my heart beat And the words you have said I left my heart at the beach But it is within your reachThe spectacles in this poem have two meanings: Sunglasses, and amazing things I have seen Written January 23rd, 2002 © on Jan 22 2002 03:17 PM PST 18 • 0 • 8
