A Daughter's Wish

By Egypt

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We stood high above, looking down below Knowing they would be safe, wasn't enough We sent them Guardians, to watch them close I smiled with pride as I watched them sleep We stood together as one slipped out of bed 'She'll never change, my love,' He quietly said 'Watch her close,' and turned to kiss him.  'I know where she's going.' I quietly walked to Mother and stood in her presence. 'My daughter needs me,' I quietly reported.  'May I go?' She turned and smiled and nodded once I stayed for a moment, taken breathless by her beauty 'Both will heal in time,' Mother said softly.  'The power we have given them will strengthen as well.' I bowed quietly and walked to My Love I kissed him softly and waited, the Call She began singing and we both turned and smiled Steps made of clouds formed in front of me As I descended to my daugher, he blew her a kiss It turned into a warm breeze and I stood before her We spoke only briefly, but I wanted to stay Guardians come and go, but a Mother is always needed Their lives flashed before me, from Mother, no doubt I told her to bring her sister and knew it would be our last night together Until our next life I hear my love call me and I slowly begin to fade I watch her make her way back to her bed as I float to my loves arms As we watch her fall asleep, I hear Mother speak softly, sending their dreams Written January 26th, 2002 © on Jan 25 2002 05:00 PM PST   10 • 0
