A quickening pulse, shallowness of breath Hands of the Ancient Ones caress my hair and arms The deep sense of 'knowing' A gentle whisper -- too faint to hear, but strong to feel 'Come with us' A life of spirit, detaching -- freedom Soaring high in blue skies, warmth of the sun -- Descending slowly Open fields of blowing prairie grass, rolling hills, the air alive with sounds of Mother A sense of pride, majesty 'Remember' Lifting, descending, sounds of a waterfall A woman stands on the banks A woman in water A sense of awe & beauty 'Remember' Lifting....heart quickening further, tears flowing The sound of a babbling brook. I am not alone The ancestors High Mountains, the Great Tree....The Garden A sense of Power, Strength and Wisdom 'Destiny....HOME' Lifting with gentle hands Airborne Soaring Higher than the clouds Icy fingers caress my skin A Fire deep with my soul....warming me Floating....A sudden stop Hanging....Overwhelmed Tears flow faster Awe, Love, Power, Strength, Beauty A Final Whisper 'Beginning'I have been studying Paganism now for 15 years. This was written directly after a meditation in which the Ancestors took me back to all of my 'enlightening moments' and reminded me just what all of this is about. I can only say that in order to truly understand it, read each line as a story in itself, then as a whole. May the Ancestors love you all.
