Danger in Shadows II

By Egypt

Walking back hand in hand Leaving their footprints in the sand No words spoken, she looks to the Moon Realizing the end would be soon They stop at the city walls and embrace once more She looks deep into his eyes and is shaken to the core He furrows his brow when she looks away He asks quietly, 'Do you wish me to stay?' She nods only slightly and turns before he could see the tears Knowing eventually, he'll know of her fears He kisses her neck and gently lifts her into his arms She lays her head on his shoulder, giving into his charms As he takes her to her rooms, she quietly sighs Doing what she can, so that she doesn't cry She ages slowly as he walks on He whispers softly to her of their eternal bond He undresses her slowly and lowers her in warm waters He washes her gently and tries to get her to speak of her bothers She quickly turns around and holds him tight And begins speaking of flight He listens intently and his brow furrows deep He notices her aging in front of his eyes and begins to weep She kisses him lightly, loving him, worshipping him And knew that their love would never dim Realizing that he could never be told And why she began to grow old Where dark hair once was, now streaked with grey Her skin once supple and soft, now felt different, to her dismay He lifted her again and carried her to bed Began speaking of the first day they met She smiled and laughed and loved him more They began making love...with strangers at the door.
