Healing Tree
By Egypt
Images flooded her head and she screamed 'Don't do this, don't do it, let me be!' She saw herself hang from the branch of the tree She screamed again, then dropped to her knees 'You've called this, you wanted it, I've done nothing wrong' 'I've stood here for decades, waiting for you to come along' 'My branches, my roots, my trunk all resemble' 'The very tree you hung from, but this is not dreadful.' 'The time to heal is now, M'lady don't you see?' 'In order to heal in this lifetime, you must feel that need' 'Allow it, own it, it yours, take your power back' 'Get angry, feel their grief, go on the attack.' Her body jolted as she began feeling the pain Her screams the wind carried, without restrain Her throat began to burn as she felt the rope tighten She began to shake as she heard the words of the henchman She fell in the mud, tried to control what she saw Her emotions not listening, she laid there in awe The tree spoke the truth, no more running to hide Her past and her present began to collide Her breathing became labored as the vision continued Stopped breathing when she dropped from the branch rather crude Her eyes locked open she saw the blue skies There on the trail, was where she died 'This is where the healing begins, my fair Mistress' 'Anger and pain, revenge - all ageless' 'Nothing you could do, you died on that day' 'Your chance as been granted, say what you may.' Her lungs filled with air as she screamed to the sky 'You murdering bastards, they shouldn't have seen me die!' She rose to her feet and looked to the tree 'I failed as a mother!' She screamed roughly 'Failed not, Mistress, you did what you could' 'Understand this wasn't your fault, is what you should' She closed her eyes and felt tears begin to fall 'You loved them, cared for them, you did your all' 'These men that murdered you cared not of those things' 'Hateful, deceiving - those insolent beings' 'Let that anger fuel you, let it heal that pain' 'Allow it, and own it - do so without restrain' She looked to the sky and screamed aloud 'Your deaths I said, I remember the vow' 'Will come on swift wings of black, swift wings of My Dark Lord' She laughed, spit on the ground and felt her soul soar She fell to her knees again and leaned against the tree Exhausted to the core, she closed her eyes and allowed it to be Her emotions, her body all felt that fateful day Allowed, felt and owned it, no more keeping it at bay.Part VI Written February 15th, 2002 © on Feb 15 2002 04:29 PM PST 18 • 0 • 10
