It Begins

Coming to her sense, the sounds of the city she heard Standing on the bridge, she heard not a word Touching the rail, she smiled and nodded Back to reality, she slowly began to trod 'My vision was in love and peace, dark one' 'If I come to you now, it will surely come undone' 'I feel hatred, greed and lust coming from you' 'Its my death you wish me to see, I've already been through' 'It's time, M'lady - you must come and see' 'Allow it and own it, for it will set you free' 'There is more to this, more you must feel' 'You've seen it, yes, but you have not healed.' She started to walk, her breathing came fast 'There's more you want from me, more than my past' 'I do not trust you, dark one, your presence is cold' 'Get Thee behind me, there's nothing to hold.' Her walk turned fast and then to a run Then suddenly she stopped, and looked to the sun No sound could be heard, no birds or wind Her thoughts suddenly turned, to the voice around the bend 'It is not I that is cold, m'lady know this.' 'The cold you feel, surrounds you in mist.' 'This step must be taken, the time is now.' 'Your promise, remember, you gave me your vow.' She walked toward the voice, as fear rose in her chest Around the bend she turned, as she slowly progressed She stopped suddenly and fell in the mud What she saw, the taste in her mouth of bloodPart V Written February 15th, 2002 © on Feb 15 2002 01:11 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
