Lost Remembered I

By Egypt

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Standing alone, a room so small High above the world, not wanting to fall Shadows and movement was all she could see Blinded in attack, she accepted and let it be Heart pounding her chest, fear tightened its grip Blood oozing from the wound deep inside her hips Strange noises and unfamiliar scent stopped her cold Heart stopped beating, her senses on overload 'Mistress, come, you are not safe here.' An unfamiliar voice in her ear 'You'll be found for sure, then your death would soon be near.' Sensing no hostility, no malice, she closed her eyes and sighed Whatever was to happen, she would soon take her long flight Down the winding stairs, her hand on his back Sweat ran down her body and filled with pain from the attack Taking precious moments away from her safety They descended slow and awkward, her Lord she wished to see 'He is waiting for you, Mistress; he sent me to get you.' His statement calmed her immediately, the ordeal almost through She allowed a brief smile and through hazy sight The unfamiliar smiled back, one more step and they ended the flight He led her outside, the sun warm on her face Furrowing her brow, she grew frightened of the space 'No, please NO!' She screamed and grew weak 'It ends now, Mistress, it is you whom I seek.' Written April 9th, 2002 © on Apr 09 2002 01:49 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
